Was away for the longest time. Went to serve the nation in the faraway land of Australia for the large part of Oct. Then laziness set in when i came back.

I dunno if my readers have realized that; i seldom (or never?) blog about my job or work. Most of my friends know what occupation i am in. Nope, not some FBI agent or some undercover which i need to be hush hush about.

I dun have the need to blog about my work mainly bcos i dun need an avenue to bitch or vent my anger. I enjoy what i am doing and i know many of my peers would love to do what i am doing. Of course the working environment that i am in is vastly different from the normal corporate setting.

It is not to say my work is stress free (which job is not stress!), especially the equities market is moving in the direction we want it to be. Main source of stress also come from the incomplete financial information that companies provide. Not a lot of companies are very good in their disclosure policies u know!

In any case, moving on.

When i came back from Australia, the mood in Singapore suddenly turn for a worse. I knew European governments took over some financials and injected capital into some, causing equities markets around the world to tumble faster than i can say stop. It is only now that Singaporeans fear about their job security. I can only say we are in for very tough times. Maybe 2 years. Maybe 3.

It is not something new that Singapre is in recession. Singapore went into a deep recession in 1997 and another time in 2002. It is now that i am facing recession as a working adult. It is no longer work cuts will happen to someone obscure whom i dunno. Now it could be my peers, or even me. Hold on tight , readers!
