Just came back from meetin up with Joel, my army buddy.

It was a great respite from all the finger pointing.

I feel great spending my Xmas evening with him because it is nice seeing him after 6 months. As i was window shopping with Joel, i wondered how come both of us can be the best friends. Both of us are come from two entirely different world.

He stays in a landed property while i am the typical HDB kid
He has always been in a reputable school, Chinese High>> RJC, whilst i attended neighbourhood school

He is more English educated than i am

The only common thing that we share is actually our passion for tennis. Often we would indulge in discussion about which tennis player cannot make it or quite zai.

Weird that we actually could become the best buddies in the army. We just went for dinner followed by some games in the arcade. Of course, we played Virtua Tennis 3! I would book seats for him or to tell him which arcade has the tennis games.

If not for the army, our paths would never cross. It is nice to have a friend whom i know who share similarities yet so different. I miss the days where we would lying on the bed and singing songs, or just to talk cock.

I am missing my army days!
